About Marian
I grew up while my parents build our family farm in the middle of Estonia. I have always been interested in nature and everything growing. I was really happy to start practicing permaculture in 2011 in a countryside place Avarmaa near my parents farm. We have lived there only during summertimes, but this is where I started planting a food forest and a sacred grove on a hilltop since 2012.
In 2015 my friend invited me to share my permaculture passion and my first lecture had 100 participants. I have been educating since then.
In 2022 we moved to Estonian Spring Capital, Türi, and started renovating and restoring our new home (built approximately 1903) right after I gave birth to our 4th child. We call this place Jaamasumma and it has taught us lot about using ecological materials and old arts. This house has also helped us to build relationships with local community and now I have started a small food forest in the community garden and I am part of the team who is now developing food forest type of garden for the local school.
In the beginning of 2024 I participated in a Permaculture Teacher Training in Holma and this together with participating in NPA gatherings has really helped me to widen the perspective, build international professional community and grow in so many ways.
Since 2024 I am also working in our family farm of 1200 ha of arable land and this is where we are testing and developing regen-ag practices together with my brother and parents.
In 2025 I turned my attention to writing a book, working with my designs and being more focused in local and family farm projects.
