About Niilo 

My background is in performing arts, youth work and environmental education. As an artist I see permaculture and life in general as a process. I love the idea of being, playing or acting as a human in creative ways. I also value the importance of the aesthetics in my living environment.

In 2023-24 I studied and worked in the School of Self Sufficiency (Omavaraopisto). There I learned basic skills for fossil free farming, forestry and community living. Low technology and human labour are in the core of my principles by which I design the different areas of life.

While living and developing our Uura community project, I am also active in the Finnish ecovillage movement, our local village association and several other projects and initiatives related to nature conservation, arts and sustainable countryside living.

I also work as a speaker, performing artist and a writer.
