About Hildur
Hildur Dagbjört is a landscape architect and a certified permaculture educator, with focus on nonviolent communication and community building. Behavioral change
Hildur has been running Gróandi, a Permaculture Educational Center and Permaculture demonstration site since 2016. Teaching varied permaculture courses; university level courses, PDC courses, introduction courses and themed permaculture courses, as well as holding numerous practical workshops within gardening and food processing. Gróandi has also been offering yearlong permaculture internships for young people that want to dive into working and living permaculture with the support of a mentor and community of likeminded people.
The last years Gróandi has been expanding their focus outwards by developing permaculture teaching materials. Math, social science and food growing materials for 1-10th grade, “Transition in Action – permaculture board game”, soil management materials and last but not least taking part in developing the Permaculture Design Toolbox.
For 10 years Community Supported Agriculture was also a part of Gróandi’s activities, where Góandi produced abundance of vegetables, berries and herbs for the inhabitants of Ísafjörður, within a gift economy system. Through the years Hildur Dagbjört tested and tried growing methods for cold climate with short growing season, and has proven that it is surely possible to grow a big variety of foods up in the northwest of Iceland.
Hildur Dagbjört has been focusing on Social Permaculture recently. Diving deep into nonviolent communication, teaching behavioral change and community building.
