About Mette 

In 2020 I started as a diploma apprentice at NPA and at the same time I started cultivating a small piece of land with a friend to do a CSA (Hjortespringgård). At Hjortespringgård we produce vegetables for 50 families, 5 months a year. We also grow a Forest Garden and sell perennial vegetables during spring months. At my own home in Værløse, a suburban area, I grow our garden together with my family. We are building up our skills, systems and garden and we aim for self-sufficiency in vegetables and fruit. We also have chickens in our small orchard to provide us with eggs, joy and a bunch of eco-services. In the Danish Permaculture Association I am active in the Permaculture Garden circle (Permakultur Have), where we build a network of Permaculture Gardens in Denmark. I finished my diploma in applied permaculture in November 2024. I find much joy in having my hands in the soil, growing food and enjoying the wonders of nature. Connection and collaboration with the inspiring people I meet on my permaculture journey fills me with gratitude.
