A supportive and growing Community.
Once again, the members of the Nordic Permaculture Academy gathered at Holma Folkhögskola in Sweden to meet, see old friends and develop the culture of NPA.
This time 5 people were acknowledged with the “Foundation certificate” for finishing 2 designs in the NPA diploma systems. They all presented their work for the group, which also demonstrated the diversity of different approaches to designing and working with Permaculture.
We are now over 70 people doing the NPA Diploma, and present at this gathering were people from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, and Estonia, there were new apprentices about to start their first designs, people who have delivered 2 designs, people with 5 or more designs, and two that have completed the NPA Diploma, as well as Mentors and Mentor trainees.
This shows that the NPA is developing a strong and supportive culture that supports apprentices on their own Permaculture Pathway.
Cathrine Dolleris also shared her, and other apprentices’ work on the Permaculture Toolbox which is now available on the Nordic Permaculture Academy Website and can be downloaded in several languages. https://www.nordicpermacultureacademy.org/design-toolbox/
At the gathering we also discussed the different designs that were presented and gave each other feedback on the next possible steps to take. We discussed how to develop the NPA with better Monthly Online Gatherings (MOGs), and more Guild members, more singing and more fun.
Apart from the schedule of the weekend, there was also time for Sauna, games, songs, and socializing with each other, and sharing the food we all brought to this gathering.
This Is why we meet to support each other and develop the connections that creates a strong and nurturing community – this gathering had all of this, and I personally always leave these gatherings with a lot of energy and inspiration to my own Diploma process.
