Permaculture Teacher Training – My Experience
We decided in the General Circle to launch the NPA Foundation certificate to give apprentices a nudge on their diploma pathways and also to increase learning possibilities especially at Diploma Gatherings.
The accreditation is given for 2 designs, assessed and approved by a mentor. Designs from two different domains on the Permaculture Flower are accepted.
When you have the Foundation certificate (and preferably also a teacher training), the NPA will issue Introduction course certificates if you are teaching Introduction courses and specialised courses such as forest gardening, social permaculture, and more. If you want to be teaching PDCs, the diploma is needed.
So, if you have 0-1 designs this is an accreditation to strive for.
If you have done 2-4 designs: Time to celebrate! You are invited to present a design or two and/or your pathway (15 mins) at a Diploma Gathering or MOG and have an appreciation/celebration time.
If you already have 5-9 designs, you can cheer your fellow apprentices on, and will be getting the diploma soon with a big celebration.
Contact your mentor if you want to know more!
At the latest gathering in November at Holma, five apprentices presented their journey on the diploma pathway of two or more designs – Hildur, Johan, Marian, Anne and Tove. Photo: Erkki Pöytäniemi.
