About Camilla
I have always had a great love of nature which lead me to study biology, with focus on botany and ecology. After graduation I taught botany and worked with nature conservation. In between and along that I went to art school and worked as a visual artist.
In 2015 I learned about permaculture, and it made so much sense to me. After reading a lot about permaculture, I did my PDC in 2020 and started diploma in 2022.
I’ve gradually built my garden to grow and conserve more and more of our own vegetables and fruit. Living in the suburbs we have to import food, and I have a great interest in the link to farmers and good farming practices. I use my background to work with biodiversity in ‘Andelsgaarde’, an association where members buy land for regenerative agriculture.
Another interest is integrating art and permaculture. When we communicate about nature and sustainability through art, it can be both playful, intuitive and creative. I have also used permaculture design to make my own art practice more sustainable with care for earth, people and self.
I enjoy teaching and find it an inspiring and important way of making permaculture more widely known. I taught my first ‘Introdution to permaculture’ in 2024 and have taught other permaculture courses both in my garden and elsewhere.
